Village historique de Val-Jalbert

The Village historique de Val-Jalbert is a must-see tourist stop on your trip to Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean. Between 1901 and 1927, the town of Val-Jalbert bustled about to the beat of its pulp mill. Journey into the town’s past. Experience an outdoor museum where you can get a firsthand look at the wooden period homes, the convent-school, post office, and the general store— which, at the time, was the local “supermarket.” Today, it’s home to a gift shop, Café-terrasse, and comfortable, spacious guest rooms. Lastly, a visit to Village historique de Val-Jalbert isn’t complete without a stop at the foot (or top) of the majestic Ouiatchouan Falls.
